Be good to your heart this month

Survived the holidays and need to fulfill those New Year’s resolutions? Try some of the exercise classes offered at the Cameron Park Community Services District — Zumba Gold Toning, Yoga classes, Tai Chi or Mindful Meditation.  In addition to the fitness classes there are also a variety of dance classes — Intro to Tap, Beginning Tap, Beginning Line Dance, Beginning Hula and Tahitian and Foxtrot.

Coffee, Tea and Friends topic this February is “Stay out of the Nursing Home.” Learn exercises that you can do at home to maintain your strength and balance. This topic will be discussed from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, in the social room of the community center. This free event is sponsored by Visiting Angels; everyone is welcome to attend.

On Thursday, Feb. 21, a public health event called Affair of the Heart will be presented by Marshall Medical Center and the Cameron Park CSD at the community center. Guest speakers, health club vendors, health screening, healthy food sampling, wine tasting, shoppers’ expo and more will be offered at this free event from 5 to 8 p.m. RSVP to affairoftheheart.eventbrite.com.

Join us in March for the concert featuring Cash Tribute on Friday, March 8, at the community center. Advance tickets are $18 each or $34 for two; $20 at the door. Doors open at 6 p.m. with music starting at 7 p.m. Don’t miss out on this great event.
