CPCSD leaps into spring with fun classes, egg hunt

Spring is just around the corner. Time to spruce up the winter-worn garden.

On Tuesday, March 12, Juliet from El Juliet from El Dorado Nursery will help guests at the monthly Coffee, Tea and Friends program create a “green” garden from their old junk. The “Let’s recycle something old into something new” program will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Cameron Park Community Center. Coffee, Tea and Friends runs on the second Tuesday of the month. This free program is sponsored by Visiting Angels.

March also kicks off a new session of Taekwondo classes available to all ages at the Community Center. Work on coordination, balance, self-control, blocks and kicks while in your own Taekwondo uniform, included free with each class. After working up an appetite join one of the Cameron Park Community Services District’s many cooking classes — Cooking for 1 or 2, Thai cooking: traditional and lettuce wraps and spring rolls, Ultimate Chocolate Truffles Class and Cooking with Kids. Participants will eat their way to a full stomach in no time.

If dance is more your style, the CPCSD currently offers a variety of dance classes for people of all ages — Baby Ballet and Pre Ballet for kids; Tap, Line Dance, Waltz, and Nightclub two-step classes for adults. There is a little something for everyone … even those with two left feet!

Want to learn Spanish? Classes are offered for toddlers and parents, preschoolers and elementary school students. Join these interactive classes where you learn Spanish while having fun.

The CSD offers a NFL-sponsored flag football program this spring. Get your friends together and sign up for this fun program. Registration deadline is March 13; games start in April.

Don’t forget at the end of month the annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held at Rasmussen Park on Saturday, March 30. Ages 10 and younger  are welcome to hunt for the golden egg.
