Get outside, stay active and do some spring cleaning

Play ball
The Cameron Park Community Services District is now taking registrations for its instructional T-ball program for ages 4-7 that begins in May (Saturdays only.)

Coffee, Tea and Friends
Head to the Cameron Park Community Center’s social room for this monthly program held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. This month’s topic is emergency preparation. Representatives from the Cameron Park Fire Department will show guests what to include in an emergency kit and share other information should an emergency occur.  This free event is sponsored by Visiting Angels.

Want to exercise?
Yoga, Zumba, tai chi, hula, table tennis, ballroom dance and tap classes are available for the adults. Hula and ballet classes are available for the youth. The CSD also offers cooking and CPR/ first aid classes.

Educational classes
The CSD offers an addition and subtraction facts math class, which starts April 9. This class will help children learn the concepts and memorization of math facts. For children and adults who want to learn to speak Spanish, the CSD offers classes for parents and tots, preschool and elementary children.

Spring cleaning
Clean out unwanted junk from the garage, clean the yard of unwanted clippings and tree trimmings and bring the garbage to the Spring Clean up Day scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, at Christa McAuliffe Park and the Camerado School parking lot. Donations will be accepted. Yard waste, trash, general recycling and e-waste disposal will be offered at the sites. Snowline Hospice volunteers will accept donations for their thrift stores and the Fire Safe Council will offer chipping services.  Please, no commercial waste, oil, batteries, tires, rocks, dirt/concrete, large appliances or hazardous waste.

Find treasures
The swap meet will be on the same day Saturday, April 20, at the Cameron Park Community Center. Sell treasures or hunt for new ones. The event will be in the parking lot from 8 a.m. to noon.

The Spring Garden, Antique and Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, May 4. This free indoor/outdoor show features a variety of garden accessories, antiques and hand-made crafts specific for the spring season. The CSD is looking for vendors. A wine tasting fundraiser sponsored by EDDOG will also be held at the event
