It’s all about the heart in Cameron Park

Love is in the air. On Sunday, Feb. 16, the Cameron Park Community Services District will host the third annual It’s a Wedding Affair — a special event designed for brides of every style. Meet the area’s most experienced wedding professionals — florists, honeymoons planners, party rental companies, photographers, caterers, dessert tasting and more. The event will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cameron Park Community Center. Entrance is free; pre-register online to be entered into the giveaways.

Affair of the Heart returns to the Cameron Park Community Center from to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27. This public health event is cosponsored by Marshall Medical and Cameron Park CSD.  The event features guest speakers, health screenings, healthy food sampling, wine tasting, vendors and more. Admission is free.

Do you have a teenager who is looking to earn some extra money as a babysitter? A two-day youth certified babysitting class will be held on Feb. 11 & 12 as well as CPR for babysitters on Feb. 13. More activities in February include monthly dance and fitness classes — Ballet, Tap and Hula for the younger ones — and for the older one the CPCSD hosts Yoga, Tai Chi, Personal Touch Jazzercise, Zumba, Barre Class, Ballroom Dance and Middle Eastern Dance. Auditions for a “Broadway Show” will be held on Feb. 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Be a part of a great Broadway production.

Attend the free Donut Social for the seniors at 10 a.m. on Feb. 14. This event is sponsored by New West Haven at the Community Center. The topic for the Coffee, Tea and Friends Program on Tuesday, Feb. 11, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. is health care reform — what you need to know. Additional activities include the Aging Well Series, senior game day on the fourth Tuesday of the month (Feb. 25), Bridge on Monday afternoons from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Mahjong on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Hand and Foot can be played on the second Wednesday of the month from 1 to 3 p.m.

All of these activities, plus lots of other programs and events, are listed on the website cameronpark.org. For more information call the Cameron Park Community Services District at (530) 677-2231.
