People Talk: What was the highlight of your summer?
Maizy Patterson, 7, Cameron Park “I went to Texas to see my grandma. I had a sleepover with my cousins and we went swimming.”
Toni Brown, Cameron Park “Spending time with my granddaughter Lily. We took hikes around Cameron Estates and collecting oak 'galls' (apple-sized growth common on oak trees). She likes to throw them in the stream.”
Julia Hackett, Rescue “Music. We saw Lady Antebellum, Josh Groban and just last night, Sugarland, with Sarah Bareilles. Jennifer Nettles is amazing. Locally, we’ve been going out to David Girard Vineyards for their shows.”
Andre Kimber, Placerville “Baby Audrey. We had our first child in July. Can’t beat that.”
Ryan Davis, Cameron Park “I went to Las Vegas for my 21st birthday. It was a blast. We stuck to the penny slots and sucked up free drinks but still spent too much.”
