Why is it still called EID?

El Dorado Irrigation District has 39,000 water customers, of which 400 are agricultural customers. These 400 customers use 16 percent of EID’s water but pay a mere 1.5 percent of EID’s overall rate revenues. Meanwhile, 47 percent of EID’s rate revenues are for sewer services and 1.8 percent more are for recycled water services. EID’s […]

We need to be reasonable in this school zone

EDITOR: Pleasant Valley Middle School is located on Green Valley Road in the middle of a 55 mph zone. There are signs indicating, “School Zone, 25 mph When Children Are Present.” The school itself is set back from the road with a parking lot and several buildings between the road and any playgrounds. I want to see John Skeel back on the job

EDITOR: Presentation made to the El Dorado Hills Community Services District: I am Evelyn Weick, vice president of the Senior Support Council and a voting citizen of El Dorado Hills. Beware of EID regional water rate comparisons

EDITOR: Of all the literature received during District 5 EID board campaigns, the EID regional water rate bar charts are misleading for El Dorado Hills residents. These bar charts show EID bi-monthly water cost close to average of other districts but assume a district-wide unrealistic low usage of 2,700 cf (27 hcf) for those in […]

EID by the numbers…

EDITOR: EID’s Jim Abercrombie this week showed charts that water 2012 rates are about to “sky-rocket” another 28 percent for EID’s “medium usage” residential water customer. This additional 28 percent follows rate increases of 18 percent in 2010 and 15 percent in 2011. Another 11 percent rate increase already is targeted for 2013. Overhead spending […]

Current EID board saves EDH residents thousands?

EDITOR: I recently opened my mailbox to see my Sample Ballot. I was rather confused when I read that an incumbent EID board member saves El Dorado Hills residents thousands of dollars. If any of us saved our EID bills prior to when the current board members were elected, one can calculate that for the […]
