I read with dismay your front page article on Oct. 17 implying the present fire board has exercised sound fiscal management. This is absurd given the extravagant compensation EDH firefighters receive. Their annual salary, overtime and education incentives average about $135,000 to $140,000 in addition to fully paid health care and an attractive retirement plan. [...]

EDITOR: El Dorado County is supposed to be mostly Republican and more conservative. I was going over the Voter Guide and noticed a plethora of proposed taxes increases on the various ballot initiatives and even within our own county. I just received my property tax and saw the following supplemental taxes: Buckeye Elem Bond Election 06 EDUHS Bond- [...]

If their plan is to augment our current firefighter-paramedics responding to emergencies in fire engines, then I’m all for it. However, seeing as they plan on reducing our fire department budget, I don’t see how [...]

I’ll try to cover all the errors, but might run out of room. We staff, and operate, four [...]

EDITOR: I’m writing to express my anger and frustration with recent statements made by two candidates for the El Dorado Hills Fire Board. According to your article, Craig and Sherry Petersen are proposing significant changes to the delivery of emergency medical services within our district. There are so many errors and inaccurate statements that I [...]
