5th-grader earns Student of the Month award


The Rotary Club of El Dorado Hills honored Brooks Elementary 5th-grader Gabe Stribik as Student of the Month. Wednesday morning Gabe and his family attended Rotary’s breakfast meeting, where his teacher Heidi MCFarlin praised Gabe’s efforts in the classroom. In addition to a plaque, Gabe received a $100 savings bond for his academic excellence.

A Placerville man was arrested last week after authorities said he sexually assaulted a Shingle Springs girl.
