Concerned about new school schedule

By From page A5 | July 04, 2012

Beginning this August for the 2012-13 school year Rescue Union School District is implementing a one-hour early release schedule for students each Monday.

First of all, I would like to know where this hour of school is going? Is it going to be made up or is it an hour every week of school disappearing? That means students are required to learn the same amount of material in a shorter amount of time.

Also, will people get the idea of Mondays being useless in school due to it being a shorter day and people will skip school on Mondays? That will actually cause the schools to lose money because schools are paid for each student who attends on a daily basis.

In a perfect world I would rather just go to school four days a week and have an hour-and-a-half added to each day. Education is forming us leaders of tomorrow; what will all these budget cuts mean for our future?
