Honoring Staff Sgt. Mote
EDITOR:
My daughter Megan (Murphy) Travis is a Staff Sgt. in the Air Force, stationed in Belgium. She attended Silva Valley, Rolling Hills and Oak Ridge. I told her what had happened to Staff Sgt. Mote and I knew it would matter, because Staff Sgt. was a fellow serviceperson and because his dad was one of her favorite teachers. I sent her a link of photos of people lining the street for the procession and below is what she postecl on Facebook. I was so touched by what she wrote and am so very proud of her. Anyway, I thought perhaps you might find a place to note this somewhere amid the other writings about Staff Sgt. Mote. I would be so pleased if Mr. Mote could see this as well.
“I am absolutely amazed and touched by everyone who went out to support Staff Sgt. Mote last night. I cried just looking at the pictures… maybe because it’s my home or because I’m in the military. It makes me, as a service member, feel so appreciated, even by people I’ll never know. Thank you El Dorado County for your support and thank you Staff Sgt. Mote for your service.”
Thank you!

It is important to remember the women who sacrifice so that we can feel safe at home. Karin’s sacrifice should be remembered just as we remember Sky’s ultimate sacrifice. I wish all of our men and women a safe journey and quick return home.
