Apparently EDH citizen is unaware that Ms. Mattock did attend the closed session of that meeting, which is how they got the 4-1 vote. As a taxpayer, I understand that these board members have lives and do their best to represent us all. Frankly, they deserve more given what they have had to endure from a very small group of people, who frankly need to get lives, and let our community heal. This board should be commended for their fiscal responsibility...look around us, they have ample reserves, we have top notch programs, and services. My experiences with the csd have not changed. And now I await the posts attacking me since I am not part of your lynch mob.

What the dog has to do with her "ability" is that when the community who elected her needed her most, she chose her dog over the taxpayers. That is just wrong and even makes me question her mental health status You are obviously her friend, hence the support, and we, the taxpayers, are the victims.

As I read this, I can't help but wonder who is attacking whom. I have lived in this community for 15 years and have known her just about as long. What I can tell you she is very involved philanthropically and is a good person. She does a lot whether you chose to recognize it or not and I am guessing had this incident never occurred, you most likely would not even know her name. Perhaps your vehement anger has got in the way of the topic at large, which is did the board act accordingly or not-- not just Ms. Mattock, but the board as a whole. As for your comments about her foster dog (or her dog that recently died of cancer), I am not sure as to what that has to do with her abilities in her position. Those comments are purely an attack on her and unnecessary. I appreciate that you are unhappy with her as a board member and that is your right, but such aggressive words are plain right cruel. I am also pretty sure the general public is unaware of the entire story of Mr. Skeel and with due process, the truth will come out. Enough said by me, I will continue to stand by her and am proud to call her my friend. Perhaps I will meet you around town someday too, neighbor. Until then, be well.

So if you can't argue the facts, attack the messenger, is that it, Julie?

It is Ms. Mattock who made the care of her dogs an issue when, in these pages, she wrote about missing a meeting that affected our community and a man's life, career, and family so she could care for her sick dog.

Ms. Mattock chose to run for public office. Along with that honor and responsibility comes a life under the spotlight and the microscope. This is small time compared to what she might face if rumors of her grander aspirations are true.

All most of us know of Ms. Mattock is her involvement in the John Skeel debacle and the perception that she has played favorites putting her friends ahead of community wishes. Maybe you or she can share with us the wondrous things she has accomplished while serving on the CSD Board so as to give us a broader perspective of her accomplishments.

Meanwhile, she might want to keep her "pitbull" from attacking her constituents and voters. Your writing doesn't do her any favors.
