Please don’t forget about the Swinney family
EDITOR:
There was a high school dance Friday, Feb. 3, at the El Dorado Hills Community Services District gym to benefit the Keegan Swinney Memorial. The proceeds were to be used to help the family.
For whatever reason the word didn’t get out and there were only about 10 kids who showed up. With the low turnout, they didn’t even cover the cost of the DJ or the security. It’s my understanding that as a result EDHCSD graciously waived the facility usage costs and the CSD staff (many of them teenagers) agreed to forego pay for the evening.
Apparently Keegan’s older brother was so upset by the low turnout that he left before it was over. I know that our community and high school kids care, and had the word gotten out we would have rallied in support. I’d like to ask the community to show its support by sending donations made payable to the Keegan Swinney Memorial to: American River Bank, 1545 River Park Drive, Suite 107, Sacramento 95815.
The sadness felt by all as a result of the low turnout was horrible. I didn’t hear until very late in the evening what was happening. My son is a freshman at Oak Ridge High School. We both tried to get people to the dance last minute, but it was simply too late.
This family has been through a lot and I want Keegan’s brother to know we care.

The Swinney family really could use some financial help at this time. Please keep them in your prayers and help in any way you can…no amount is too small. Thank you El Dorado Hills friends!
