Solution to high school boundaries issue

EDITOR:

With regard to the dilemma that some Serrano residents are facing with high school boundaries, there is a simple, cost saving solution. Instead of three school districts in El Dorado Hills (Rescue, Buckeye and El Dorado Union High School), why not have just one district for our community?

We’d be eliminating redundant administration costs and it would unify our community. We would also no longer be subsidizing three other high schools (as well as several other alternative schools) for our rural neighbors. Best of all, the kids in El Dorado Hills would all be able to attend the same high school without administrators in Placerville dictating the matter, and we would have a board comprised of our residents, looking out for our best interests.
