Oktoberfest is coming soon

Our next big party is the Oktoberfest and will be held on Friday, Oct. 14, sponsored by the El Dorado Senior Support Council and the Placerville Nutrition Lunch Program. It will be held in the CSD gym on Harvard Way, doors open at 10:30 a.m., entertainment is at 11 and lunch is served at noon. The lunch is delicious, suggested donation is $3 for seniors 60 and older, and all others pay $5. Our local fire department will be there to help serve and clean up. We thank them! A reminder, lunch is served every day at the Senior Center at the same cost. Bring a friend and socialize; it’s a lot of fun!

New! First Friday fun

The first Friday of each month will include extra fun during Senior Nutrition Lunch.  Join us on Sept. 2 for treats and trivia!

September is National Senior Center Month 

There are more than 11,000 Senior Centers in the United States and many participate in celebrating National Senior Center Month. Join us on Friday, Sept. 30for a special celebration. Come early (11 a.m.) as seats are limited! After lunch, at 12:45 p.m., we will have a concert by the El Dorado Hills Senior Fun Time Band.

Day trip to Lake Tahoe 

Join us as we sit back, relax and enjoy the trip to Tahoe on our chartered bus on Sunday, Sept. 25. You will be dropped at Harvey’s casino to spend the day “playing.” The trip departs from El Dorado Hills at 9:15 a.m. and returns at 7 p.m. The fee is $37 and includes a $20 slot voucher and a $7 lunch voucher. Call the CSD Registration Office to sign up at (916) 933-6624.

Senior Nutrition lunches
Delicious and nutritional lunches are served weekdays at noon, at the El Dorado Hills Senior Center, 990 Lassen Lane. For seniors 60 and older the suggested donation is $3, all others $5. The lunches are fresh and tasty and provide a balanced meal, in addition to an opportunity for seniors to socialize and make new friends. Senior Center activities are scheduled daily before and after lunch.

The El Dorado Hills Senior Center has many programs coming in the month of September. Join us for: Get to Know Your Digital Camera; Drawing; Painting (all mediums); Cribbage Lessons; Sleepy Time Yoga; A Matter of Balance; Walk with Ease; Updates on Social Security; Chair Yoga; Writing and Publishing Your Novel or Book; Recycling 101; Who ‘Ya Gonna Call? Senior mailing list 

The ‘Senior Spotlight’ newsletter from the Senior Center comes out in September. Call if you would like to be placed on the mailing list to receive this quarterly publication which lists the programs, events and activities held at the center.
