Christmas party coming soon
Christmas will be here before you know it and the party will be held at the El Dorado Hills Community Services District gym on Friday, Dec. 9, sponsored by the El Dorado Hills Senior Support Council, the CSD and the Senior Nutrition Program. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m., entertainment begins at 11 and lunch is served at noon. Suggested donation for lunch is $3 for seniors age 60 and older and all others $5. Our El Dorado Hills Fire Department will be there to serve and clean up and we thank them very much. Good news! At the party, we are serving banana splits again thanks to the Rotary Club of El Dorado Hills, who provide and serve these yummy ice cream treats. Call the Senior Center soon to make your reservations for this great event at (916) 358-3575.
National Memory Screening Day
National Memory Screening Day marks the focal point of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America’s national initiative to promote early detection and intervention for those concerned about memory loss. We are honored to host this countywide screening, thanks to El Dorado County’s Senior Day Care Services. The free, confidential screenings will be provided on a first come, first serve basis on Tuesday, November 15, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Donations to the Senior Day Care Center are graciously accepted. For further information call Senior Day Care Services at (530) 621-6180.
The Senior Center will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day, and Thursday and Friday, Nov. 24 & 25, for Thanksgiving. Enjoy your holidays.
On Thursday, Nov. 10, at 10 a.m. we will host our annual Veterans Tribute at the Senior Center. Veterans and their families are invited to share stories, recollections and memorabilia of their service to our country. Also, Robert Leon, Bill Tobin and Mark Foltz will do a presentation about the “100 Year Journey,” the planned El Dorado Hills Veteran’s Memorial. The El Dorado Hills Fire Department Color Guard will be here at the beginning of senior nutrition lunch that day.
Senior nutrition lunches
Delicious and nutritious lunches are served weekdays at noon at the El Dorado Hills Senior Center, 990 Lassen Lane. For seniors 60 and older the suggested donation is $3; all others $5. This is a great place to have lunch, meet new people and visit with friends.
