It was a great Christmas party!
Our Christmas party held on Dec. 9 was a big success with more than 200 attending. Lunch was prepared by the Senior Nutrition Lunch program of Placerville and it was delicious and we thank them. Our local Rotary Club of El Dorado Hills donated and prepared the fantastic banana splits. They were so good! Thank all of you very much. We thank our local firefighters for serving our delicious lunch. They also stayed and helped clean up, and our thanks to all of you.

I hope everyone is enjoying this Christmas holiday as much as I am. It’s cold and brisk, but warm weather is on the way.

Annual Valentine Luncheon
It will be here before you know it! Call now to make your reservations for our Valentine Luncheon held at the El Dorado Hills Community Services District gym on Friday, Feb. 10.

January holidays
The El Dorado Hills Senior Center will be closed on Monday, Jan. 2, due to New Year’s Day falling on a Sunday, and Monday, Jan. 16, in honor of Martin Luther King’s birthday.

Senior Nutrition lunches
Delicious and nutritional lunches are served weekdays at noon, at the El Dorado Hills Senior Center, 990 Lassen Lane. For seniors 60 and older the suggested donation is $3, all others $5. The lunches are fresh and tasty and provide a balanced meal, in addition to an opportunity for seniors to socialize and make new friends. Senior Center activities are scheduled daily before and after lunch.

Happy New Year!
Here’s a great way to start your new year! By now you should have received the new book of upcoming activities from the CSD Recreation Department. Check it out! There are eight pages of activities that happen at the Senior Center — something for everyone! Beginning in January we will offer: Ukulele Lessons; The Arthritis Foundation Walk with Ease Program; Indian Cooking; Lunch and Learn, Spinal Arthritis; Hospice 101; Truffles Workshop; and a guest speaker on Disaster Preparedness. These special programs are in addition to the year-round programs such as Fun Bingo, Cribbage, Canasta, Mexican Train Dominoes, Line Dance, Knit and Crochet, Monday Movies, Computer User Group and much more. Call the Senior Center for class details and to sign up at (916) 358-3575.

December birthdays
These folks celebrated both birthdays and holidays in December: Staff member Janet Kenneweg, Robert Euer, Ellie Franklin, Emile Fougere and Roger Haviland were our December babies. Happy birthday everyone!
