Parties, parties, parties!
The Christmas Party was a great success with more than 225 attending. The food, the entertainment and the banana splits were outstanding. And thanks to our local fireman for the great job they did serving and cleaning up.
Our next big party will be the Valentine Party to be held on Friday, Feb. 11, in the CSD gym on Harvard Way. It will be sponsored by the EDH Senior Support Council, the EDH CSD and the county’s Senior Nutrition lunch program. The doors open at 10:30 a.m.; make your reservations by calling the Senior Center at (916) 358-3575.
Fun Bingo is played every Monday and Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at the Senior Center on Lassen Lane. Each player must buy two cards at $1.50 each ($3). Additional Bingo cards are available for purchase. The prize for each Bingo is a $5 gift card from our local Raley’s or Nugget stores. Join us for some Bingo fun!
Delicious senior nutritional lunches are served weekdays at noon, except holidays, at the El Dorado Hills Senior Center, 990 Lassen Lane. For seniors 60 and older the suggested donation is $3; all others $5. The lunches are tasty and provide a balanced meal, plus an opportunity for seniors to socialize and make new friends. Senior Center activities are scheduled daily before and after lunch.
Senior Center holidays
The Senior Center will be closed on Friday, Dec. 31, for New Year’s and Monday, Jan. 17, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.
New year of programs
With the New Year comes the new quarter of exciting programs at the Senior Center. We will have Bridge workshops and classes, Beginner French Lessons, Learn to Make Potstickers class, Ukulele Lessons (both beginner and advanced beginner), Indian Cooking, the brand new Train Your Brain and Hospice 101. Call the Senior Center at (916) 358-3575 to hold your spot!
Our December birthday “celebrators” were Robert Euer, Wesley Freestone and Ellie Franklin. Happy birthday all!
