Cinco de Mayo is just around the corner
Last chance to make your reservations this week. Our annual Cinco de Mayo luncheon will be held on Friday, May 6, in the CSD gym. Join us for live mariachi music, nacho bar, door prizes and lots of fun! Doors open at 10:30 a.m. with entertainment at 11 and a delicious lunch of creamy chicken enchilada casserole will be served at noon. The suggested donation for lunch is $3 for seniors age 60 and older, and $5 for others.

Sensational Singing Seniors
The Sensational Singing Seniors are coming to El Dorado Hills! This energetic group hails from the Placerville Senior Center and is making their debut here at the El Dorado Hills Senior Center. On Tuesday, May 3, at 1 p.m. they are presenting their new program “Seasons of Love.” Admission is free.

Fun Bingo — help needed!
We are in need of callers and cashiers for our long-standing Bingo program. Fun Bingo is played every Monday and Thursday at 12:30 p.m at the Senior Center on Lassen Lane. Each player buys two cards at $1.50 each ($3). The prize for each Bingo is a $5 gift card from our local Raley’s or Nugget stores. We thank our local markets for their support in providing gift cards at a discount.

Senior lunches
Delicious senior nutritional lunches are served weekdays at noon, except holidays, at the El Dorado Hills Senior Center,990 Lassen Lane. For seniors 60 and older the suggested donation is $3, all others $5. The lunches are fresh and tasty and provide a balanced meal, in addition to an opportunity for seniors to socialize and make new friends. Senior Center activities are scheduled daily before and after lunch.

Coming soon
Watch your mailbox next week for the CSD’s Summer Recreation Guide. In it you will find the senior activities scheduled at the Center for the upcoming summer months. In May we’ll have a Truffle Making Workshop, The Sensational Singing Seniors Concert, Older Americans Day Luncheon, and a guest speaker from the Better Business Bureau on Fraud and Identity Theft against Seniors. Movies are shown the  first and third Mondays of each month right after lunch. On May 2 we are showing the recently released musical “Burlesque” and on May 16 “The King’s Speech.” Call the Senior Center for further information at (916) 358-3575.

Senior Center mailing list
If you would like to receive the Senior Center’s quarterly Senior Spotlight Newsletter, call the Senior Center to be put on our mailing list. The next newsletter edition comes out in June. Check out the Summer Recreation Guide for all ages, there are lots of new programs at your Senior Center.

April birthdays
Our April birthday celebrators were Ross Walter, Mary Walter, Bill Klein, Harold Kiser and Leona Randolph. Happy Birthday to our April “babies.”
