Spring Fling luncheon
Make your reservations soon, as seating is limited. This fun time party is sponsored by the Senior Council, the El Dorado Hills Community Services District and the Senior Nutrition Lunch program from Placerville. The luncheon will be held on Friday, May 9, in the EDHCSD gym on Harvard Way. Doors open at 10:30 a.m., entertainment by the Riverbend Band begins at 11 a.m. and lunch will be served at noon. The suggested donation for lunch is $3 for seniors age 60 and older; all others pay $5. Our local El Dorado Hills Fire Department staff will serve lunch and they always stay to help clean up. We thank them very much; the help is very much appreciated! After lunch a door prize drawing will be held and many great prizes will be given away. Remember to make your reservations now by calling (916) 358-3575.

Fun Bingo
Join us on Mondays and Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. for our Fun Bingo program. You can buy two bingo cards for $3 (and additional cards for $1). Winners receive $5 gift cards from Raley’s and Nugget who generously support this program. It is bingo and it is fun!

Senior Nutrition lunches
Delicious and nutritious lunches are served weekdays at noon, at the El Dorado Hills Senior Center, 990 Lassen Lane. For seniors 60 and older the suggested donation is $3, all others $5. This is a great place to have lunch, meet new people and visit with friends.Reservations are not necessary.

May movies
Our May Movies of the Month are “The Butler” on Monday, May 5, and “Philomena” on Monday, May 19. Join us after lunch at 1 p.m. for our monthly movies. Reservations are not required.

Memorial Day program
The new Memorial Day is About Remembering program is scheduled for Friday, May 23, at 1 p.m. Join local resident Kathy Harries as she shares personal accounts that she has learned from family members and others while researching WWII. You can share your stories and photos too if you would like! Kathy has displays of actual newspapers from 1939-1945. Refreshments will be served. Please call to hold a spot.

May classes and guest speakers
Sign up for guitar lessons, Get to Know Your Digital Camera and oil painting. Special guest speakers will come to the Senior Center on Tuesday, May 13, to discuss Caring for the Caregiver and on Tuesday, May 20, to discuss Facebook 101. Classes and speaker events require preregistration; call (916) 358-3575.

April birthdays
Here are the birthdays we have on record for April: Bill Klein, Mary Walter, Ross Walter, Tony Winkler, Harold Kiser and Leona Randolph celebrated in April. Also, our friend Wanda Nesewich celebrated being 100 years young! Happy Birthday everyone! If you would like your birthday listed in this column, please let us know.
