Valentine’s Day party coming soon
Don’t wait too long! It’s time to make your reservations for the annual Valentine’s Day Luncheon sponsored by the El Dorado Hills Senior Support Council, the El Dorado Hills Community Services District and the Senior Nutrition lunch program. The date is Friday, Feb. 8, and the party will be held in the CSD gym on Harvard Way. Doors open at 10:30 a.m., entertainment by the El Dorado Hills Senior Fun Time Band starts at 11 and lunch is served at noon. Suggested donation is $3 for seniors 60 and older; $5 for all others. The El Dorado Hills Fire Department will serve the lunch and help clean up. They do a fantastic job, and we thank them. After lunch a drawing will be held and many great prizes will be given away. Call the Senior Center soon and make reservations at (916) 358-3575.

Senior Nutrition lunches
Delicious and nutritious lunches are served weekdays at noon, at the El Dorado Hills Senior Center, 990 Lassen Lane. For seniors 60 and older the suggested donation is $3, all others $5. This is a great place to have lunch, meet new people and visit with friends.

Senior Center happenings in February
If you haven’t been to the Senior Center yet, join us for our brand new Senior Center orientation the first Wednesday of the month (Feb. 6). We will serve you a continental breakfast, tour you through the center and tell you all about our wonderful programs. We like to think we have something for everyone! Please call ASAP to hold your spot.

Join us for the brand new Armchair Travel Adventures group which meets the first Friday of the month (Feb. 1) at 10 a.m. Whether by ship, plane, bicycle, motorbike, truck, roller skates or on foot, we have all traveled. Relive your experiences and share your stories, photos, maps, artifacts, music and whatever you would like. Local resident Liane Martin leads this group. Call the Senior Center to let us know you are coming.

In February we are offering the following classes at the Senior Center: Get to Know Your Digital Camera Workshop; Oil Painting; Watercolor Painting; and Ukulele Lessons. February guest speaker topics include: History of El Dorado County; Planning for Long Term Care; and 911 — The Event Has Happened … Now What? The Movie of the Month scheduled for Monday, Feb. 4, at 1 p.m. is “The Words” starring Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Irons and Dennis Quaid. Call the Senior Center for dates, detail, and to sign up for programs at (916) 358-3575.

Holiday closures
The Senior Center will be closed Monday, Feb. 18, in honor of the President’s Day holiday.

January birthdays
Our January birthday “kids” were Jack Klauschie, Joyce Kiser, Carolyn Phipps, Don Weick, Sara Birgbauer, Winifred Saastad, Katie Midkiff, Elaine Altavilla, Linda Mercier, Alane Vinson and Christa Bower. Happy birthday to this big January group!
