Art & Wine Affaire

The El Dorado Hills Optimist Club, El Dorado Arts Council and the El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce present the 10th annual El Dorado Hills Art & Wine Affaire at El Dorado Hills Town Center.

Ninety artists with specialties ranging from ceramics to acrylics to photography will create a varied atmosphere of fine art throughout the festival grounds while representatives from 25 local wineries pour their finest. Guests will be able to purchase artists’ pieces and local wines at the booths.

Live music and dance add another level of entertainment.

Guests on Saturday will enjoy a special performing artists segment from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., highlighting some of the region’s most accomplished dancers from El Dorado Dance Academy’s KALEIDOSCOPE Touring Dance Company, Chhandam School of Kathak Classical Indian Dance, Folsom Lake College’s MOSAIC Dance Company and Pamela Hayes Classical Ballet.

Ricky Estrin and The Nightcats will follow the dance performances with a 2 p.m. concert at the Steven Young Amphitheater. Since the 2009 release of the band’s celebrated Alligator Records debut, “Twisted,” the group has toured non-stop, honing creative synergy to a razor’s edge. Night after night, the band blazes its own innovative musical path while still remaining true to the blues. The results of all of this natural chemistry can be heard on the irresistible new album, “One Wrong Turn.”

On Sunday Over the Edge brings its dynamic combination of Adam Gottstein on guitar/vocals, Dave Holob on electric violin & mandolin/vocals and Joe Bellamy on electric bass to the amphitheater at 11 a.m. The result is music that combines and compliments their artistic sensibilities. The trio blends their sound to cover a wide range of musical styles from jazz and blues, bluegrass and country to ballads.
Sporting a roster of seasoned musical veterans from every genre yet known, Apple Z follows with a 2 p.m. concert. The band has unique and clever treatments for the timeless catalog of popular music everyone knows and loves. Apple Z is a shiny new band with vast performance experience in all types of venues and formats due to the members many diverse musical projects.

Net proceeds from the event will benefit the Arts in Education programs of the El Dorado Arts Council, the Friends of Youth programs of the El Dorado Hills Optimist Club and the El Dorado Hills community outreach programs of the El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce.

The El Dorado Hills Art & Wine Affaire at El Dorado Hills Town Center takes place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, May 11 & 12. Tickets are $25 per person for one day of wine tasting (21 and older). Event parking is at Blue Shield.
