Pop Art Gallery and Custom Framing, 254 Main St. in Placerville, is hosting a new art show this month with featured artist Marjorie Dodrill. Her work is showing through June 30.

The Placerville artist’s works include watercolor horse, acrylic beach scenes, Yosemite and local historical spots in Coloma. The natural light in the gallery provides the perfect venue to enjoy the art.

“My eye is always seeking transparency, cast shadow and the play of sunlight on a beautiful flower. I love working with oils for the rich colors and acrylics for the flexibility,” Dodrill said.

Self taught for 25 years, copying the masters and immersing herself in art books, Dodrill painted on her own during vacation breaks from a teaching career.

For more information about the exhibit call Pop Art Gallery and Framing at (530) 622-1235.
