Cal Auto Museum presents ‘The Politician and the Pop Princess’

The powder blue 1974 Plymouth Satellite used by California Gov. Edmund G. “Jerry” Brown during his first two terms in office (1975-1983) has long been a star attraction at the museum and now has been joined by a long-lost flame.

The Politician and the Pop Princess features the famous Plymouth and a 1982 Porsche 911SC Targa which was originally owned by Brown’s one-time girlfriend, rock legend Linda Ronstadt. These vehicles, and additional artifacts, pay affectionate tribute to Gov. Brown and Ronstadt and will take museum visitors back to the 1970s. The cars and artifacts tell a uniquely “California” story of romance, the media, and the intersection of politics and fame.

The California Automobile Museum is located at 2200 Front St., Sacramento. The public can contact the museum by telephone is (916) 442-6802 or visit the website at www.calautomuseum.org. The museum is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on third Thursdays of every month until 9 p.m.
