‘Compleat Female’ makes Sacramento debut

Big Idea Theatre opens its 2011 season on Thursday with the Sacramento premiere of “Compleat Female Stage Beauty” by Jeffrey Hatcher.

The play takes place in England in 1661. During the Golden Age of theatre men rule the stage. One woman will spark a revolution that will forever change how the world sees women and how one man sees himself.

Directed by Brian Harrower, this show features Big Idea Theatre Company members Kristine David, Benjamin T. Ismail, Carrie Joyner and Justin D. Muñoz along with the talents of Heather Judkins, Jouni Kirjola, Brian Watson and many more.

The 2011 season features a new performance schedule that includes “Thrifty Thursday” shows during the first two weeks of each four-week run. Performances of “Compleat Female Stage Beauty” are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. (Jan. 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 28, 29, Feb. 4, 5) and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. (Jan. 16, 23, 30).
