Folsom’s got rhythm and blues

FOLSOM — Nothing brings people together quite like a festival — the day before Father’s Day — featuring great music, good food, a family friendly atmosphere and the best in craft beers.

Carrera Productions presents the second annual Folsom Rhythm & Brews on June 14, noon to 6 p.m., in the Palladio shopping center in Folsom. The event will feature 40-plus craft breweries, a Kid Zone, two stages of entertainment, great food choices and more.

The event is free but thos who wish to taste craft beers must purchase a tasking kit for $25 online at folsomrhythmandbrews.com or at the event. The kit includes a 16-ounce festival pint glass, over 21 identified wristband and seven tasting tickets. Additional tasting tickets will be available for purchase at the event and more information can be found on the event website. An online order will secure an e-ticket (print and bring to the event and redeem for kit). Electronic scanners will make for a quick entry and additional ticket booths have been deployed to handle the large crowds at the event.

This year’s entertainment includes Tommy Castro & The Painkillers, Dennis Jones Band and Val Starr & The Blues Rocket on the Shingle Springs Subaru Stage. David Walley’s Hot Springs Stage performers are Jim Lauderdale, Roy Rogers & The Delta Rhythm Kings and Danny Click & The Hell Yeahs. Artists subject to change; check the website.

A portion of the event proceeds will benefit the Folsom Chamber of Commerce and its local service club(s) and Young Life. Guest must be 21 or older to participate in beer tasting; everyone must bring valid ID. Event will be held rain or shine. No refunds or exchanges and no outside alcohol/food allowed into the event.
