Crab

Attention crab lovers: The crab feed of the year returns Feb. 25.

The Rotary Club of El Dorado Hills hosts its annual crab feed from 6 to 10:30 p.m. at the El Dorado Hills Community Service District gym, 1021 Harvard Way, where guests will enjoy great food, a fabulous silent auction, live music, dance lessons and more.

Tickets are $40 advance $45 at the door and available online at edhcrabfeed.org or at outlets located at the El Dorado Hills Fire Station 85 on Wilson Way, California Welcome Center in Town Center, or at the EDHCSD office. Reserved VIP table sponsorships are available.

The event is a fundraiser for The Rotary Club of El Dorado Hills.

In addition to all-you-can-eat iced Dungeness crab the menu includes fresh garden green salad, French baguettes and pasta with the club’s famous red plum tomato basil sauce.

The event’s silent auction and raffle will have something for everyone. Make a bid and then enjoy complimentary dance lessons and DJ services provided by AA Music Events. Live music to be provided by award winning jazz combo Over Swing and don’t miss the chair massage by Bassil Kamas CMT.

Chartered in 1990, the Rotary Club of El Dorado Hills meets weekly for fun and fellowship and to help fulfill the needs of others at local, regional and international levels.

Proceeds from the evening will help the club sustain its annual programs which include a high school speech contest, high school scholarships, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, Buckeye/Rescue District Student of the Month recognition and local vocational awards.

The El Dorado Hills Rotary also charters the Oak Ridge High School Interact Club and both Cub Scout Pack 465 and Boy Scout Troop 465. Additionally, the club participates or financially supports local programs — breakfast for Big Brothers & Sisters, senior citizens social events, Toys For Tots and adopt-a-family. The club also partners with the El Dorado Hills Fire Department for an annual smoke alarm and home safety checks and members volunteer at community clean-up days and support numerous other local activities.

The Rotary Club of El Dorado Hills is a major donor to the CSD Teen Center & Skate Park, the CSD Jeff Mitchell Field and a founding sponsor of the El Dorado Hills Veterans Memorial.

Internationally, the club has been involved with Rotary projects around the world, providing funds, goods and volunteers for a variety of programs and projects including wheelchair distributions, disaster relief through ShelterBox USA, supporting the Rotary Foundation and the End Polio Now program partnering with The Bill & Melinda Gates foundation.

The local club also participates in group study exchange and Rotary Youth Exchange, a program in which the El Dorado Hills club currently sponsors two high school students who study abroad in Belgium and Switzerland, and host two — one from Spain and one from Germany. Both are currently attending Oak Ridge High School.
