The ninth annual El Dorado Hills Art & Wine Affaire will be held Mother’s Day weekend, May 12 & 13, in El Dorado Hills Town Center.

The event presenters for 2012 are again the El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce, the El Dorado Hills Optimist Club and the El Dorado Arts Council. More than 100 artists are expected to display at 2012’s event. Last year attendance was 16,000-plus over the two-day event. Twenty premiere El Dorado County wineries will be on site for tastings throughout the weekend and live entertainment will be featured both days along the Town Center lakeside amphitheater.

Don’t miss the wonderful dance performances at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, followed by The Rhythm Vandals (Santana tribute) from 2 to 4:30 p.m. On Sunday be sure to check out Over The Edge at 11 a.m., followed by an afternoon with blues great Shane Dwight at 2.

The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, is free with wine tasting for $20 per person each day. Must be 21 for tasting and event is rain or shine.

As with the 2011 event, organizers are again pleased to announce that substantial funding and extensive advertising coverage will extend the reach of this event throughout the Northern California region to therefore drive cultural tourism — travel motivated entirely or in part to experiencing the arts, history, natural resources and unique characteristics of  the county.

Net proceeds from the event will benefit the Arts in Education Programs of the El Dorado Arts Council, the Friends of Youth programs of the El Dorado Hills Optimist Club and the El Dorado Hills community outreach programs of the El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce.
