Lakehills Church actors find the ‘Best Christmas Present’

Lakehills Church Kids of the Kingdom Choir  will unwrap the “Best Christmas Present Ever” at four performances Dec. 2-4

“This present won’t be found at the mall or any other store,” hinted director Carolyn McKenzie, who presents her 22nd Kids of the Kingdom production. She is assisted by a dedicated group of choreographers, vocal coaches and assistants Amy Gargiulo, Stacey Gregersen, Sheri Rasmussen and Bonny Verner.

Sixty-five children ages 5 to 11 perform in the production with showtimes at 7 p.m. on Dec. 2, 2 p.m. on Dec. 3 and 9 and 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 4.

The Sonbeam sinners, 14 children ages 3 and 4 will sing Christmas carols before “The Best Christmas Present Ever.” The Sonbeams are directed by Heidi, Laurel and Megan Maunder, Kelly Sharp and Sarah Leverenz.

The special Christmas production is free.

Lakehills Church, 7000 Rossmore Drive in El Dorado Hills, offers two services every Sunday at 9 and 10:30 a.m. Middle school students meet Sundays at 10:30 a.m. and Tuesday nights and high school students meet Sundays at 10:30 a.m. and Wednesday nights. Christmas Eve services at Lakehills are scheduled for 4:30 and 6 p.m.

High school and middle school students will present “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat” in early 2012 in six performances: Friday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Jan. 28, at 2 and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Jan. 29, at 9 and 10:30 a.m.
