Madeline’s Christmas will enchant audiences

One of the wonderful and well-known stories in the Madeline series comes to life on Sutter Street Theatre’s stage as the musical “Madeline’s Christmas” is presented.

The lyrics, “In an old house in Paris that was covered with vines lived 12 little girls in two straight lines,” starts off this delightful tale. Join Madeline and the 11 other little girls along with Mrs. Clavel, Monsieur Brun, Harsha, Mrs. Murphy and a very lively little mouse on an adventure that takes them flying on magic carpets, singing delightful songs and being reunited with their families for the Christmas season.

This production of “Madeline’s Christmas,” with book and lyrics by Jennifer Kirkeby and music by Shirley Mier, is directed by Allen Schmeltz with musical direction by Chris Schlagel.

Performances are at 1 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, Dec. 8-30, plus special weekday performances at 4 p.m. on Dec. 17-21. Tickets are $17 general, $15 seniors and $13 children 12 and younger.
