Negro Bar painting wins award

David Lobenberg won Best of Show for his submission into the Sacramento Fine Arts Center’s “Painting Where the Wild Things Are” exhibition.

The award presentation will occur at a May 11 reception, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., and the center, 5330B Gibbons Drive in Carmichael. The reception will also include live piano music performed by Larry and refreshments.

This themed and juried art exhibit features art by regional artists benefiting Effie Yeaw Nature Center, May 7-25. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. This art exhibit is a preview of Art Auction and Gala benefiting Effie Yeaw Nature Center on June 8. Tickets will be on sale at the reception.
