‘The Little Mermaid Jr.’ makes a splash

Imagination Theater announces the opening of  “The Little Mermaid Jr.” on Friday, April 5.

Based on the Hans Christian Andersen story and the Disney film, the beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. To do so she will have to defy her father King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula and convince Prince Eric that she is the girl with the enchanting voice.

Adapted from Disneys 2008 Broadway production, “The Little Mermaid Jr.” features the hit songs “Part of Your World” “She’s in Love” and the Oscar-winning “Under the Sea.”

The production runs through Sunday, April 28. Shows are at 7 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays, and with matinees at 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased online at imagination-theater.org pr at the box office, (530) 642-0404. Imagination Theater is located on the El Dorado County Fairgrounds in Placerville.
