‘The Unexpected Guest’: A Pandora’s Box of plot twists
A man looking for help getting his car out of a snow bank walks into a house to find a woman holding a gun over her murdered husband. She is dazed and her confession is … unconvincing. He offers to help, leading to an evening filled with dodgy relatives, suspicious servants and a surprising revelation.
Bob and Ro Productions presents “The Unexpected Guest,” Agatha Christie at her plot twisting best with this thrilling script. Director Jill McMahon and cast have gleefully grabbed every sinister moment and applied themselves to make the evening a joyfully suspenseful experience.
Continuing their new tradition of celebrating opening nights, Bob and Ro Productions will host a free wine-tasting before the Jan. 6 performance. Arrive at 6:30 p.m. to enjoy a glass of wine, a small snack and good company before the show.
“The Unexpected Guest” will run on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., Sundays at 2 p.m., Jan. 6 through Feb. 12. Tickets are $20 general admission, $18 seniors, $15 students, and can be purchased by calling the box office at (877) 532-7171 between noon and 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Tickets can also be purchased at the door, The Studio Theatre, 1028 R St., Sacramento.
