Time to pour over The Cellar Wine Bar’s new menu

FOLSOM — The Cellar Wine Bar, located along historic Sutter Street corridor, recently launched a decadent new menu, complete with homegrown flavors.

Executive Chef Joe Kuka has created a versatile menu inspired by the locally grown agriculture of the Sacramento region. The latest creations partner the bold flavors of the county with the charming tastes of the nearly 140 wines served on site, including more than 30 by the glass. Some of the latest creations include: a wasabi and tofu edamame hummus dip served with fresh kale salad, herb baked bread, seasonal vegetables and truffle oil; seared scallops with roasted corn and kale salad, applewood bacon bits and pesto sauce; and sweet chicken skewers served with spicy chorizo risotto, red pepper and summer squash salad and sriracha sauce.

The latest craze in gastronomic eatery has lent credence to the construction of this savory new menu.

Founder and owner Jeff Rempfer started his venture in the wine business nearly five years ago, explaining, “We wanted to be able to offer the customer more food options, and do something different than what is already offered on this street with a French and Italian flare.”

These latest menu additions are a growing part of the ever­changing landscape of The Cellar Wine Bar. A recent overhaul of the internal layout of the restaurant includes two lounge seating areas and seven handcrafted tables, along with a newly remodeled and expanded kitchen. The intimate ambiance of this rustic and cozy restaurant is a true Tuscan-­inspired hideaway in the charming nooks of the iconic Sutter Street. With happy hour being served four days a week, and a daily changing “specials” board, there is something sure to fit anyone’s tastes.

  1. I recently had a chance to go try out the new menu- UNBELIEVABLE! Such a nice change of pace to see real food craftsmanship at it’s finest, and the decadent bites paired with wines has really changed my tastes immensely.
