Local young actors Kitty Czarnecki and Delaney Kelleher will star in the holiday classic, “The Quiltmaker’s Gift” at The Studio Theatre in downtown Sacramento starting this weekend.

The play tells story of an old woman who makes quilts for the needy. When a self-centered king approaches her and demands a quilt, she refuses and they begin a struggle of wills. The king finally learns that owning lots of “things” does not equal happiness.

Kitty Czarnecki and her husband David owned Garbeau’s Dinner Theatre for four years. She has since started Art & Soul Productions, a non-profit theatre production company that performs school assemblies and offers children’s theatre workshops in the summer.

Delaney Kelleher is no stranger to theatre and has been seen in musicals in the area.

The Studio Theatre is located on R Street between 10th and 11th Streets. “The Quiltmaker’s Gift” will be presented Saturday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for children. The production will be directed by Michael Peters, with musical direction by Jamez Dahl. For reservations call (877) 532-7171.
