Daddy & Me a sweet tradition
Nearly 300 daddies and daughters danced their hearts out at the 11th annual Daddy & Me Valentine Dance hosted by the El Dorado Hills Community Services District at the CSD gym Friday night.
Dads doted on their little ladies while doing the Chicken Dance in costume and slow dancing to “Butterfly Kisses,” which left all of the females working the event in tears at the overwhelming sweetness, according to Whitney Kahn with the CSD. Dads also showed off their hidden talents during the traditional Air Guitar Contest.
“The Daddy & Me Valentine Dance is by far our favorite event of the year,” said Mike Sichler, who brings his daughter Abbey. “We haven’t missed a single dance in nine years. Thanks to Whitney and the other staff at the CSD, the Valentine Dance has gotten bigger and better every year. My daughter and I always look forward to it.”

Cudos to Whitney and her crew for the effort every year. Absolutely amazing. This is the feel good event of the year. It’s worth the price of admission just to watch the interactions. Lots of dads and daughters come from outside EDH as well. That’s actually true of many CSD events. Every person that attends a free concert or a dance or a Tai Chi class at the CSD is one more friend of El Dorado Hills, one more reason to live here and hopefully, one less wacko badmouthing this friendly community.
