Turkey Trot
Nov. 20: Lace up those running shoes and get moving for the Food Bank of El Dorado County. The annual Turkey Trot, 8 a.m. to noon, features long and short distances races for families and individuals. Prizes are awarded in each age division and others can try their luck in post-race drawings. The pre-registration fee is $23 and includes a commemorative T-shirt. For more information call the Recreation Department at (530) 677-2231.

Craft fair
Nov. 20: Don’t miss out on a Cameron Park holiday tradition. The annual Christmas Craft Faire will be held at the Cameron Park Community Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The show features dozens of crafters all showcasing hand-made items. Food and refreshments will be available. No entry fee to the public.

Dec. 3: Bundle up the kids and head out to Christa McAuliffe Park for a holiday extravaganza featuring music, pictures with Santa, hot chocolate and homemade holiday treats, a marshmallow roast, sleigh rides and more. The holiday fun begins at 6 p.m.

“Run with Santa”
Dec. 4: Everyone is invited to participate in the first 5K fun run/walk “Run with Santa” at 8 a.m. at the Cameron Park Community Center. Proceeds from the event will benefit local fire department youth programs. The start and finish line features music, festivities and a pancake breakfast to benefit the Cameron Park Fire Department Explorer Post 89. Registrations forms may be downloaded at CameronParkChristmas.com or picked up at the Cameron Park CSD offices.

Breakfast with Santa
Dec. 11: Head to the Cameron Park Community Center and dine on a delicious pancake breakfast from 8 to 11:30 a.m. while children talk to Santa and share their Christmas wishes. Tickets are on a first come first served basis; $10 per person or buy a family four pack for $30. Ticket discounts available when you bring a canned food to help out the Food Bank of El Dorado County.

Santa Claus parade
Dec. 17-19: That jolly fellow from the North Pole will be driving through Cameron Park accompanied by the Cameron Park Fire Department. Routes and times will be posted at cameronparkchristmas.com on Nov. 1.
