Big Autumn Auction benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters

From vacation packages to artwork to local wines and more, high bidders and winning raffle ticket holders will be cheering as they gather to enjoy the ninth annual Big Brothers Big Sisters of El Dorado County Big Autumn Auction.

This year’s event takes place at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, at Blue Shield of California, 4203 Town Center Blvd. in El Dorado Hills.

Chef Jonathan Rolls will prepare a gourmet dinner and dessert, all complemented by local wines. Guests will experience first-hand success stories from some of the adult mentors and children who participate in the program. Both silent and live auctions will add excitement to the evening as winners enjoy a variety of luxurious items donated by local businesses, artists and individuals. Raffle drawings offer yet another way to win gifts.

“It’s going to be a magical evening,” said Big Brothers Big Sisters of El Dorado County’s Executive Director Judy Knapp. “It’s a rare opportunity for our community supporters to get together for an evening of great food, heartwarming stories, and magnificent auction items. Plus, of course, everyone will share in the common desire to support the Big Brothers Big Sisters mission. This year we hope to surpass all previous efforts so that we can reach out to even more children who need our services.”
