Book publisher to speak at the library

Calling all book lovers, writers, and dreamers: Have you ever wondered how to get a book published? What are book publishers looking for in a manuscript?

On Saturday, April 14, at 1 p..m special guest Ted Savas from Savas Beatie LLC will talk about the secret world of book publishing at the El Dorado County Library, 345 Fair Lane in Placerville.

Savas, managing director of Savas Beatie, has been in the publishing business for decades and witnessed the changing landscape.

“The world of book publishing is fascinating and changing rapidly. I’m lucky that my passion is also how I make my daily living,” he said.

He has seen the industry from all angles, as author, editor, publisher, agent, and consultant and is an award-winning author in his own right. He will be speaking on niche publishing, working with authors, and developing manuscripts, and addressing your burning questions about writing and publishing.

“I’m looking forward to speaking to writers and book-enthusiasts at the Placerville library and explaining the ins-and-outs of book publishing from both a writer’s and publisher’s perspective,” Savas said.

Savas is the first of a series of guest speakers addressing the library’s writing group, The Writers Bloc, which meets the second Saturday of the month. Savas Beatie LLC is a leading military and general history publishing company located in El Dorado Hills. Since 2004, Savas Beatie has been publishing ground-breaking and award-winning titles.
