Buckeye USD official takes on new role

The El Dorado County Office of Education recently announced that Roberta Montalbano has been selected as their new associate superintendent of Administrative Services.

Montalbano has been serving as the assistant superintendent and chief business official for the Buckeye Union School District since 2008. As such, she has overseen all administrative services of the district including Finance, Facilities, Human Resources, Food Service and Transportation.

Her career in education spans 16 years. She previously served as the assistant superintendent of the Auburn Union School District from 2005-08. Montalbano is returning to the El Dorado County Office of Education, where she worked from 2003-05 in assignments that included district chief fiscal officer for Pollock Pines School District.

Montalbano’s accomplishments include graduation from the FCMAT sponsored Chief Business Official Training, California Association of School Business Officials CBO Certification, and completion of the School Employers’ Association of California negotiations training.  She is known for her transparent, open approach to the budget; presenting difficult information in an understandable way; and an ability to develop trusting relationships with all stakeholders, even while engaged in making tough fiscal decisions.

Montalbano’s collaborative leadership style, integrity, experience, and a vision that focuses on student needs make her an excellent addition to the El Dorado County Office of Education.
