When going to Tahoe, my Dad always checked out the Buffalo. If they were standing, when he went up, he would win and if they were laying down, he would loose (or was it the other way around?). I will be sure to tell him what happened to the herd.

Too bad the community couldn’t invest in some life-sized buffalo steel cut-outs–maybe 3 in different sizes–like the horse one on Bass Lake Road and the Fox and Rabbits up 50 between the Ponderosa & El Dorado exits. That would be such a nice tribute/thank you to Mr. Neunam for all the years we have enjoyed seeing his buffalo as we’ve driven past.

Sure will miss seeing them…that was the last piece of “home” in the EDH that was once a small little village, not the commercialized, overpriced and overcrowded city it is now….ah, the good ole days….so many memories

I truly miss the buffalo. As a child I looked forward to going to Lake Tahoe because we would get to drive past the Buffalo hill. I have lived in the foothills now for 20 years and have driven past them every day coming home from work in Sacramento. I have told my friends and family stories about how long they have been there, and I too looked forward to the signs announcing the latest additon to the herd. I understand why you had to sell them, but none the less they will be missed.
