Burglary suspects arrested in armed incident

Two burglary suspects were arrested Tuesday evening in an incident that involved residents in the North Shingle Road area reporting a man armed with a rifle terrorizing the neighborhood.

El Dorado County Sheriff’s Central Dispatch received a call of a robbery that just occurred shortly before 4 p.m. in the Sleepy Hollow residential area. A homeowner reported that a subject who was masked and armed with a rifle attempted to break into the residence. The homeowner was able to push the suspect out of the residence and secure the door. The homeowner was able to lock the door and call 911.

With the assistance of Folsom police, Placerville police and the California Highway Patrol, two suspects were apprehended in connection with this incident. Those suspects are Dillon Andrew Nitzen, 19 of El Dorado Hills. He is suspected of burglary, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and vehicle theft.

Harrison Clark Haines, 18, of Auburn area was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

No further details were immediately available.
