Cameron Park Soroptimist to hand out grants

Soroptimist of Cameron Park will host its annual Grant Awards Night at 5:30 on June 29 at Sierra Vista Bank in Cameron Park.

The recipients of this year’s grants will be Partners in Care, Court Appointed Special Advocates, The McKinney-Vento Girl’s Empowerment Project of the Placerville Union School District, Ponderosa Sober Grad Night, Buckeye Education Foundation, New Morning Youth & Family Services for furniture in safe house, Foster Family Services for emergency apparel, United Outreach of El Dorado County, Cameron Park Rotary’s Community Observatory for equipment, Green Valley Elementary Sustainability Project for their garden project, Placerville Police Department Peace Officers Association for the Bloodhound “Hank” and the Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Fund.

“This event is the rewarding culmination of the efforts we invest in Chocolate Affair and our other fundraisers,” club President Sally Marshall said.

More than $7,800 will be returned to the community.
