Car wreck claims four lives
PLACERVILLE — A traffic collision near Apple Hill resulted in four deaths Saturday night.
A Toyota Prius was traveling eastbound on Highway 50 when, for unknown reasons, it crossed over into oncoming traffic at about 6 p.m., according to a CHP press release. The Prius hit a Toyota Sienna “broadside,” the press release stated. Both vehicles had been in the respective number two lanes of the highway prior to the collision.
Four-year-old Nora Temple, of Pollock Pines, was the only casualty in the Sienna, according to a press release from the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office. Father Will Temple was in fair condition at Sutter Roseville Trauma Center as of Sunday. Mother Danielle Temple, 35, who was driving, and twins John Maxwell Temple and John James Temple, both 1, were treated and released from Marshall Hospital.
Elly Su, 10, of Oakland, was the sole survivor of the Prius. The car was driven by father Sheng Su, 38. Also in the car were mother Shu Zhao, 39, and her brother Shawn Su, 8. Elly was treated and released from Marshall Hospital to extended family in the Bay Area.
