Carolyn Brooks named new El Dorado Hills Library manager

Fresh off her final interview for the top job at the El Dorado Hills Library, Youth Librarian Carolyn Brooks helps young readers Quentin Hardy, 5, and twins MacKenzie and Gavin Hardy, 6 expand their “read at night” material with some “James and the Giant Peach.”El Dorado Hills mom Trish Hardy, not pictured, said she appreciated Brooks’ hands-on philosophy.

Outgoing branch Library Manager Susan Covington retires effective March 31, with plans for an RV trip to Alaska with her husband Woodie this summer. Brooks takes the reins at the “little library that could” on April 2, according to Covington, who also reported that the soon-to-be vacant youth librarian position will be replaced.
