Community invited to comment on Mental Health Services Act plan update

The El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency’s Mental Health Division invites the public to review and provide comment on the fiscal year 2014-15 Mental Health Services Act plan update.

The draft plan update provides information on current and new MHSA programs and budgets for three fiscal years (FY 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17). MHSA components in the plan update include: Prevention and Early Intervention; Community Services and Supports; Workforce Education and Training; and Capital Facilities and Technology Needs.

Public comment regarding the draft Plan Update may be submitted in writing through July 9 at 5 p.m. via e-mail to [email protected] or via postal mail to: Health and Human Services Agency, Mental Health Division, MHSA Project Team, 768 Pleasant Valley Road, Suite 201, Diamond Springs, CA 95619. A public hearing, hosted by the El Dorado County Mental Health Commission, will be held after the close of the 30-day comment period.

The draft plan update is now posted on El Dorado County’s MHSA website at edcgov.us/mentalhealth/mhsa.aspx or a copy may be obtained by contacting Stephanie Carlson at (530) 621-6315. Information regarding the date and time of the public hearing will also be posted shortly to the MHSA website.

The Health and Human Services Agency will document and consider all substantive feedback before submitting the final FY 2014-15 plan to the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors for approval.
