County annual tax sale set

C. L. Raffety, El Dorado County treasurer and tax collector reports that the county’s auction of tax defaulted property is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 4, at 1:30 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Board Room (Building A) at 330 Fair Lane, Placerville. Prominent on the list of properties up for bid this year are approximately 180 timeshares located in South Lake Tahoe. These timeshares often sell at auction for $1,000 and up.

A list of parcels up for sale can be viewed on the Internet at edcgov.us/taxcollector (click on “Public Auction Tax Sale”). Also available on the same Website are the rules of the sale and the registration form. Registration for the auction starts at 11 a.m. Participants can fill in the registration form at the auction site on the day of the sale or they can complete the registration forms anytime in the comfort of their home or office by accessing the form on-line.

If not redeemed before Nov. 4, several land parcels will be offered for sale and it should be noted that some of these parcels have bond obligations associated with them. Bidders are encouraged to investigate and research thoroughly the attributes (and detriments) of properties before bidding.

Interested parties may call the Tax Collector’s Office at 530-621-5800 should there be any questions regarding the upcoming tax sale.
