Lead maintenance worker Dan Gothier was recognized for 25 years of service at the Aug. 8 El Dorado Hills Community Services District Board of Directors meeting. The CSD employee reflected on the changes he’s seen since signing on as one of three CSD employees in the summer of 1988.
“There were 14,000 people back then,” he said. “Where the CSD park is now there was nothing but field.”
Several current and former colleagues spoke on Gothier’s behalf, attesting to his dedication and enthusiasm. “Danny is the real star of the district,” said Sandi Kukkola, assistant general manager.
Gothier was presented with a certificate and a new plaque will be installed in the pavilion to recognize CSD employees with 20 or more years of service.
“I love what I do,” Gothier said of the nine CSD parks he maintains today. “We’re doing it for the kids. I don’t plan on leaving. It’s too much fun!”
