An El Dorado County sheriff’s deputy was injured in a collision in El Dorado Hills on July 5.

The deputy, whose name has not been released, was turning left from southbound Latrobe Road onto eastbound Highway 50 at about 11:15 p.m. when a silver 2007 Nissan Altima traveling northbound on Latrobe entered the intersection and collided with the deputy’s 2009 Crown Victoria, CHP Officer David Ridge said.

According to a witness who was behind the deputy, the deputy was turning on a green light, Ridge said.

The deputy was transported to UC Davis Medical Center with moderate injuries, Ridge said. In a post to the EDSO crime blog, Sgt. M. Seligsohn wrote that the deputy had non-life-threatening injuries and was in stable condition the evening of the collision.

The driver of the Altima was identified as Mary Quilty, 29, of Placerville, Ridge said. She had complaints of pain.

The incident is still under investigation.
