Dog park funding

The El Dorado Dog Owners Guild is sponsoring the planned El Dorado Hills dog park and another in Cameron Park.

EDDOG members are actively raising funds to pay for the parks. Thus far they’ve raised $53,000 of the estimated $200,000 cost of the El Dorado Hills dog park, according to their website: eddog.com.

The El Dorado Hills Community Services District budgeted $50,000 for the environmental and planning work to get them started.

The El Dorado Hills dog park includes a .58 acre area for small dogs and a separate 1.08 fenced areas for large dogs. The entire area is surrounded by a 45-foot planted buffer.

EDDOG meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Nugget Market balcony. Dog-lovers are welcome.
