Eagle Scout Greg Stein takes flight
Greg Stein of El Dorado Hills Troop 465 earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Greg’s Court of Honor will be held at the Placerville Airport at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 1.
Greg’s project is an outdoor bulletin board for the Placerville EAA Chapter 512, located just outside of the EAA hangar at the Placerville Airport. This is not just a bulletin board; this project took to flight and is inspired by the theme of aviation. More than 400 hours went into the project’s building and design. The roof is a mockup of an actual wing, with a plexi-glass window to see inside. The bulletin board provides information to pilots both visiting and local about upcoming events and regulations.
The EAA supports the community with multiple programs like the Young Eagles, Eagles and basic ground school training at no charge.
Special thanks to the Placerville EAA Chapter 512 for providing support and space. Greg also send thanks to: EAA 512, Home Depot, CHI Monitoring, Mr. Russ Mote and family, Dave & Cathy Alltucker, attorney Brad Clark, Divide Insurance’s Scott Alberts; optometrist Dr. Ron Vardanega, Sherwin-Williams, Vinder & Associates, Julie Dunn with Realty World; Farmers Insurance’s Carl Hagen, Placerville Bike Shop, Subway on Broadway and Round Table Pizza on Broadway.
“I could not have done this project without the support of my parents, Troop 465, C.A.P. Squadron 85 and Jim Wilson,” Greg added. “Thank you for all the support and time working on this project.”
